Welcome to Troop 149 of High Bridge, NJ!
​Does your son like the outdoors, helping the community, and having fun with his peers? If so Troop 149 can help. We are open for boys, ages 11 - 17, to join us as a scout. Simply come to a troop meeting and sign up. For details about troop meetings please see below.

We hope everyone had a safe and happy summer vacation. The troop had a fun time at summer camp this year, and we hope everyone had fun with their families as well.

The troop calendar on this page has been updated for the upcoming scout year. Events may change, especially later in the year, and we'll communicate changes as they arise, but for now the schedule is complete and accurate so please make note of these dates on any personal family calendars for planning purposes. Below are some of the more impending events to make note of.

We'll be starting the school and scouting year on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at our first troop meeting of the fall. We'll discuss a couple of things from the summer, go over the upcoming scout year, finalize some of the scout events that still need to be decided upon, make some youth leadership changes, and generally get the boys, especially the new scouts, back up to speed. Please bring in any updated medical forms as well.

The troop will have it's annual pork roll, egg & cheese fundraiser during the High Bridge Youth Soccer opening day ceremony, which will be on Saturday, September 11, 2021 from 7:30 - 1:00 pm. This will go to replenish troop finances from equipment purchases and 2021 overruns. Scouts should be in uniform, and all scouts who aren't involved with soccer are expected to participate.

The first campout will be the Training Campout, which will be at Spruce Run the weekend of September 24-26, 2021. We'll be hosting the webelos of Pack 149. Please let the troop leaders know if you will be attending, and please bring in payment and signed permission forms to one of the upcoming troop meetings.

Bag stapling will be during the troop meeting on September, 30th for the fall food drive. All scouts are expected to participate. Please bring in a stapler and extra staples to aid in the effort. Scouts will be assigned areas to deliver bags at.
Troop Meetings
Troop Meetings are held every Thursday night, between September and June, from 7:00pm - 8:30pm. They are held in the basement meeting room of the High Bridge United Methodist Church. The entrance is through the door in the back near Thomas Street. Meetings ARE NOT held if school is not in session that day. Please see the calendar for specific dates.
Committee Meetings
Committee Meetings are held monthly on the 3rd Tuesday night from 7:30pm - 9:00pm. They are held in the basement meeting room of the High Bridge United Methodist Church, which is the same meeting room that troop meetings are held in. The troop leadership uses these meetings to discuss troop business and upcoming activities. Troop parents are welcome to attend. Please see the calendar for specific dates.
